Well, I’ve been a lazy blogger. I have more pictures from the rest of my NYC vaycay (plus an excursion to Boston) — will I ever get around to posting them? Perhaps. I actually would have taken so many more during my all-day solo outing while Sandy was at work, but it was so cold that I was more inclined to shield my face from the wind and walk as quickly as possible.

Upon my return to Austin (where it was 65 degrees and sunny today, thank you very much), I tried my hand at shooting some engagement photos for Andrea and Kevin. I was extremely flattered that they asked me, but also pretty nervous because I’d never done anything like that before. So I did some research beforehand, had some places in mind where we should go shoot, and 500 photos later we ended up with some really decent ones. Here are just a few:

Shot at the Long Center. I set my aperture as low as I could but was a little limited by my equipment, so I ended up with this really loud background. I love the skyline but wanted a much more subtle approach. So I did some extremely amateur editing:
The difference is more apparent when the photos are larger. It’s not the best, but it was my first try at this kind of Photoshop work. I’d like to go back and redo that one later.
